At GKN Aerospace we are growing, and, therefore, we are looking for passionate, ambitious and experienced in aeronautical engineering Engineer Analysis to join our CoC Design & Analysis department along with a team of experts.

The role of Engineer Analysis

What is the role about and which are your responsibilities?

As an Engineer Analysis, you belong to a team of experts who focus on the design & analysis of aerostructures. As such, you perform static, dynamic and fatigue analyses and calculations using FE simulations and hand calculations. You are responsible for the strength calculations of a sort of aircraft parts and assemblies. You perform these tasks on both composite and metal structures, including strength analysis, stiffness calculations, buckling and stability strength, attachment and connection strength, fatigue analysis and damage tolerances. The work is always performed in accordance with the corresponding airworthiness regulations and requirements. Lastly, you support the justification of design changes and you analyze the effect of design deviations.

What do you bring to this role

As Engineer Analysis you have minimum 4 years of relevant experience and you are able to independently perform analyses and calculations using FE programs like Patran and Nastran. Moreover, you have the following skills and qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in Aeronautical, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering,
  • Affinity with complex technical systems,
  • Knowledge of materials and processes, preferably in aerospace,
  • Extensive experience in static strength and fatigue analysis (both hand calculations and FEM),
  • Experience in FE packages like Patran and/or Abaqus as well as CATIA is a pre,
  • Critical mindset, quality oriented,
  • Ability to communicate and to write technical documentation in English,
  • Good analytical skills in combination with practical approach.

Where do you work? Your office is located in Papendrecht, but we have a hybrid work model. Some travelling will be required, since this role is international.

Work schedule: we expect you to be available to work full-time (40 or 32 hours per week).
